  • Account information: your email address and authentication data, provided directly or via Google sign-in
  • Financial data you provide: transactions, amounts, categories, descriptions, and balances you enter or describe to FinAI
  • Conversation data: messages you send to the AI assistant, used to log transactions and generate insights
  • Preferences: language, currency, and display settings (light/dark mode)
  • Usage data: basic technical information such as device type and app interactions, used to improve the Service

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Process and categorize your financial transactions using AI
  • Sync your preferences and data across your devices
  • Manage your subscription and billing
  • Respond to support requests and improve our features

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal or financial data. We may share information with trusted third-party service providers strictly to operate the Service, including:

  • Supabase — for authentication and secure database storage
  • OpenAI — to process your messages and generate AI responses (GPT-4o Mini)
  • Brandfetch — to retrieve merchant logos for transaction categorization

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only to provide services to FinAI.

5. Data security

We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and Row Level Security (RLS) policies, to ensure that only you can access your financial data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data retention

We retain your account and financial data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be permanently removed from our systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Export your transaction data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
  • Request information about how your data is used

8. Children's privacy

FinAI is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Service. Your continued use of FinAI after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
